When booking always state what you want in your wedding as some register offices have restrictions, for example, confetti may not be allowed.

Legal requirements

Fees and Documants.

You will need to pay for -

  • Notice of marriage
  • The attendance of any registration staff at the ceremony
  • All marriage certificates - usually payable per certificate

The documents you require will include -

  • Main identification like passports or birth certificates
  • Proof that any previous marriage has officialy ended
  • Certificate or other documantation to confirm marital status, nationality, residence and names

When the notices of marriage have been given, the bride and groom must wait a minimum 15 days before the marriage can take place. The marriage can then take place anytime within one year, otherwise notices of marriage will need to be given again.
