Photography & Videography.

Photography is your way of making sure you remember your day forever.
Below is plenty of helpful information regarding your wedding photography.

Tips From David Heath Images

David Heath one of the top wedding photographers in Hampshire, offers some invaluable advice......

When planning your wedding day, you will no doubt be inundated with all sorts of advice about everything.  But when it comes to choosing a photographer, most of the "tips" offered are from people who are not wedding photographers!

I can tell this by reading some of the articles myself, where couples are advised to consider all sorts of things such as the number of photos to be included, how long will the photographer stay, and which type of album will be produced, if any.  These are of course important factors.

But far more relevant, and issues which should be closely looked at, especially with larger studios, are the following:

Do you know who the actual photographer will be for your wedding?

Are you happy with your photographer's expertise and specific style?

Do you like the photographer and would you be totally relaxed with him or her throughout your wedding day?

Does the photographer come across as experienced enough to know what to do in difficult or unexpected circumstances?

Do you consider the photographer  to be both diplomatic and discreet, but also animated if necesary?

Have you discussed exactly what is going to happen with your photographic coverage, and the approach  you would prefer?

Have you ensured that particular shots which are special to you will be taken?

Is the photographer a full time professional?

Does the studio have facilities for guests to view and order their images online and is this offered free of charge?

Finally, of course, fees have to come into the equation.  But, with the significant costs of the many other parts of the wedding,  most of which only last the day, it seems logical to ensure that the photography must be of a high quality, and equally important, something you will love to look at time and time again, and be proud to show other people.

Prices vary enormously.  This is mostly down to one thing.  Skill.   With the various degrees of skill, professional photographers refer to this as  the "level of competence".    The part timers and less experienced photographers may often produce good work.  However, there is a far higher chance that things could go wrong, often with disasterous consequences.    Or maybe the photographs are sharp and well exposed,  but you just dont like them.   This could be due to many factors such as the expressions or lighting isn't right.  What happens then?  Thats the chance you take.  DONT RISK IT!

About wedding photography

Your wedding day will be the happiest and most memorable day of your life. You want to remember it forever, and your choice of photographer and videographer could well determine just how long those precious memories will last.

Once all the celebration and merriment is over, the guests gone, the dress hung up and the flowers withered, and you start out on your new life together, details of your joyous day will gradually fade from you memory. But open the photograph album and memories can be relived forever – instantly recalled in sharp, vivid colour. Watch the video or DVD and hear the laughter and see those impromptu moments you’d forgotten!

A wedding is an expensive business, but your wedding album and video or DVD is forever. So it makes sense to guarantee a professional service for your wedding photography and videography, with professional results to match; and using a qualified professional usually means better value for money.

It is well to plan early if you can. Good professional photographers and videographers are booked up many months in advance. Please contact all those mentioned in this magazine to find out who suits your requirements for your big day.

Here are a few tips on looking your best in front of the camera

During your final fitting, it’s a good idea to practice posing in your wedding dress. Take a good look at how you want the train to fall and find our which poses show off your dress and figure in the best way.

When having your wedding photographs taken, avoid sitting bolt upright and staring straight into the lens, find a more relaxed pose and try tilting your head to one side. If you feel more relaxed sitting down, leaning against something or having your flowers to hold, then do so. Many nervous brides make the mistake of holding their breath when photographs are being taken, especially close-ups, but this tends to make you look incredibly tense so relax and breathe normally.

Try not to have a fixed smile as it can start to seem false. Looking away and then taking up a new pose just before the picture is taken gives a far more spontaneous feel. For a sexy close-up, try keeping your eyes shut until the moment the photographer is ready to take the shot. By opening them at the last minute, your pupils will be dilated which is what happens naturally when you see someone you fancy!

A good photographer will guide you to get the best pictures possible but remember that you’re hiring them so its up to you how you want to appear. Don’t be bullied into awkward poses you feel uncomfortable with. It’s vital to get your own personality to come across in the pictures.

By simply having a wonderful time and letting it show, you’ll appear naturally radiant, making it easy for your photographer to capture all those emotions on film that you’ll be able to enjoy looking back on for many years to come.
