Car & Carriage Hire.

Transport to and from the church is a very important part of any wedding. After all, you dont want to turn up for your special day in your friends Mini Metro.
Below is a guide to the differant styles of wedding transport.

Styles Of Wedding Transport.

Just an old fashioned girl ……
White Rolls Royces, Bentleys and Daimlers are the most traditional choice for brides. Have a look at all the options before you decide though, as there are plenty of stylish vintage and classic cars to choose from and they don’t have to be white either! How about an old Morris or a James Bond style Aston Martin?

Fast Cars
If you’ve always dreamed of having a sports car, then why not make your dream come true on your wedding day by hiring one? Nowadays you can hire just about any type of car from a flashy bright red Ferrari or a glamorous low-slung Lamborghini. Many brides like to arrive in a traditional car and then leave the ceremony in a more sporty number. With a two-seater car you can forget the formality of chauffeur and simply drive yourselves; just don’t get arrested for speeding or dangerous driving on you wedding day!

Dare to be different
With so many cars to choose from, there are plenty of unusual choices on offer. How about turning a few heads with a big American car like a pink 50’s Cadillac convertible? A stretch limousine is a really fun option as there’s plenty of room for you to travel to and from the ceremony with both your mum and dad and all your bridesmaids too! Cars from certain TV programmes and films can also be hired so if the mood takes you, you could arrive by Batmobile or in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

If your ceremony is near a river, think about hiring a boat for all your guests to enjoy a cruise along the water, perfect for a hot summer’s day; or take to the skies with a thrilling hot air balloon or helicopter ride – the choice is yours.

On the buses!
Hiring a bus for the day can really add to the atmosphere of your wedding day. Instead of just the two of you leaving the ceremony together, why not invite guests on board your very own bus and drive to the reception en masse? This way no-one has to worry about parking and you can get the party started as soon as the ceremony is over. Plenty of local transport companies hire out their buses and many car hire firms have classic buses and coaches available.

Catch a Cab
A popular trend, especially amongst London brides, is to hire a classic black cab. Several of the taxi companies also have white versions of the popular black cab that are perfect for weddings. A word of warning though: be sure to specify that it is for your wedding and that you definitely don’t want it covered in advertising like many of the modern taxis. If you fancy something a little out of the ordinary or have an American connection, how about hiring a yellow ‘New York’ cab instead?

Your carriage awaits …….
A traditional horse and carriage is a wonderfully romantic way to travel on your wedding day, but before you get carried away you’ll need to think about how practical an option it is. A horse and carriage is perfect for a local country wedding but not so great if your poor horse has to cope with long distances and heavy traffic. Also bear in mind, if you’ve chosen an open air carriage, like the popular two-seater landaus, that it does have a roof that can be raised, then if it does rain, it won’t matter
